About
The waterfall directory built for search and trail nerds
Waterfall Atlas is a fork of our UPick Atlas playbook. We proved the stack (Next.js 15, Tailwind v4, ShadCN UI, static export) while validating the “directory + schema + useful content” model on farms. Waterfalls scored highest in our Ahrefs/Semrush research, so we ported the template, rewrote the content, and curated 50 verified falls across the US.
What’s live today
- 50 waterfall pages with TouristAttraction + FAQ + Breadcrumb JSON-LD.
- 50 state hubs, 7 type hubs, 5 region pages, 50 best-of pages, 50 easy-hike pages.
- Real coordinates verified by OpenStreetMap Nominatim, real hike distance + permit notes, bespoke photography tips.
- Umami analytics wired (self-hosted) and static export ready for Cloudflare Pages.
What’s next
- Expand to 100+ waterfalls, prioritizing underrepresented states.
- Add user submissions (photo + conditions) with manual review.
- Publish downloadable GPX tracks for the longer hikes.
- Layer in state-by-state waterfall safety briefings.
